Richard Biddenstadt, 77, of Keokuk died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2007, in Keokuk Area Hospital. He was born on July 3, 1929, in Keokuk, the son of William and Violet Inman Biddenstadt. He was united in marriage to Betty Parke on June 4, 1950, in Keokuk. She survives.

Additional survivors include: a daughter, Nancy Stephenson of Keokuk; a son, Dennis E. Biddenstadt and his wife, LInda, of Fort Madison; a sister, Elizabeth Derr and her husband, Junior, of Farmington; a brother, Bird Biddenstadt and his wife, Kay, of Council Bluffs; four grandchiildren, Paul Stephenson, Pete Biddenstadt, Sarah Barnes and her husband, Brandon, and Megan Biddenstadt; and three great-grandchildren, Sterling Barnes, Spencer Barnes and Aria Stephenson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Julius, Ralph, William and Vernon; and a sister Frances Spiesz.

He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk. He had been employed at Schlotter's Greenhouse and Super Oil in Keokuk. He then worked at F.A. Dunn in Keokuk for 43 years. Following that he worked for Church & Enderle in Keokuk, retiring in 1991. After his retirement he owned and operated Rich's Welding Shop in Keokuuk. He enjoyed working in his shop, gardening and playing ca One of his favorite pasttimes was going for coffee and visiting with firends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always there for his family.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Vigen Memorial Home, Keokuk, with the Rev. John Tyler officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Keokuk.

Visitation is today at the funeral home, with family meeting with friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk.
