Verna Alice Burkhart, 82, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 5, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 7 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. Bro. Ricky Burse officiated.
Mrs. Burkhart was born Aug. 8, 1922 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Grant Holloway and Millie Katherine Davis Holloway.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, George and Debbie Burkhart and Jerry and Joy Burkhart, all of Crossville; daughters and son-in-law, Joan Davis and Barbara and Bobby Burden, all of Hixon, TN; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Burkhart; brothers, Dick, John and Bent Holloway; and sisters, Nancy Ford, Laura Holloway and Cora Lee Holloway.
Pallbearers were Tommy French, Greg Bilyeu, Kenny Randolph, Gary Bilyeu and Bobby Lynn Bilyeu.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
