Barrett Rites Held Monday
Mrs. Fay Barrett, 73, died suddenly at her home in Miller Thursday night.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First United Methodist church. The Rev. Donald Greenough officiated at the service and burial was in the GAR Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Reck Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Merlyn Westby, Duane Aymar, David Ames, Ray Moncur, William Schwartz and Melvin Lorbeer.
Mrs. Barrett, the former Fay Bohen, was born June 26, 1900, at Shannon, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Bohen. At the age of three, she moved with her parents to Canton, and lived there until 1918, when with her parents, she came to Miller. March 17, 1922, she was married to David S. Barrett in Miller, and for a number of years they made their home on a farm in Greenleaf township, later moving to Miller. She was a member of the Greenleaf Methodist Church, community Garden Club and V.F. W. Auxiliary of Miller. She was very active in Church work.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Harriet) Lawler, Ree Heights; a son, James, Fort Collins, Colo., a nephew, Oliver Haas of Ft. Collins, whom she and her husband reared from infancy after the death of his mother; two sisters, Miss Olive Bohen, Miller, and Mrs. Martin Connor (Virginia), Bend Ore.; one brother, Charles Bohen, Scottsdale, Ariz., and five grandchildren. Her husband, parents, and one sister preceded her in death.
