Services were held at 10 a.m. this Tuesday in Christ the King Episcopal church for Harry W. Tipler, 78, Sturgeon Bay, who died of a sudden heart attack Saturday night, Aug. 14.
Mr. Tipler was born Mar. 26, 1893 in Algoma to John and Lena Tipler and lived most of his life in Sturgeon Bay. On June 7, 1911 he married Nellie DeFaut and served in the U.S. Navy during World War I. Until his retirement he was employed as a sailor on the Great Lakes.
He was a member of the Henry S. Baird Masonic Lodge, VFW, and World War I Barracks.
Survivors include his wife, 1319 Texas st., city; one son, Floyd, Sturgeon Bay; one granddaughter and four great grandchildren.
The Rev. Roy McDaniel of Algoma officiated at Tuesday's service. Interment was at Bayside cemetery. Masonic services were held for Mr. Tipler at the Davis Mortuary on Monday evening.
