He worked as an inspector with the former Westinghouse Corp., Horseheads, and as a machinist with the former Collins Valve, Canton. He retired in April 1975. Mr. Morse was a member of the Canton Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ. He attended LeRoy Elementary School graduating from Canton High School in 1942. He served as secretary for the LeRoy Schools for 20 years and as a director for two years for the Tri-County School District, Canton. He was a 50-year member of the Open Hand Grange No. 153, Pomona State and National Grange, which he served as state deputy for six years, a member of the LeRoy International Order of Odd Fellows, and the Samaritan Band in Monroeton.
Mr. Morse and his wife, the former Elizabeth Hickok, celebrated 38 years of marriage April 15, 1987.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at the Canton Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, with the Rev. Duane Taylor and the Rev. David B. Morris, church pastor, officiating. Interment was in the LeRoy Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Morse and Kleese Funeral Home, Canton. The family suggests memorial contributions be forwarded to the Canton Church of Christ or the Diabetes Foundation in Bruce’s memory.
