Daughter of the late Ernest Bennett and Bertha Clubb Bennett.
Lillie grew up in the Greenville area and later moved first to St. Louis and then to Bonne Terre with her husband Marion where they raised their family. Lillie was a Christian woman, and was a loving and caring mother. She had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, riding bicycles, and especially hunting for mushrooms.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Merle Baker; son, Stephen Ray Baker; infant granddaughter, Danielle Jones; two brothers, Ira Bennett and Burnell Bennett; and a sister, Rachel Stratton.
She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her children, Frieda (Olof) McTaggart of Birch Tree, Lawrence (Paula) Baker of Farmington, Carroll (Danny) Sasser of Aiken, S.C., Delores (Allen) Rehmer of Cole Camp, and Bruce (Elizabeth) Baker of Lawton, OK; five brothers, Ernest Bennett Jr., Willis Bennett, Elijah Bennett, Burnett Bennett, and Paul Ray Bennett; two sisters, Rosemary Riley and Bernice Jessop; thirteen grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives, friends and neighbors.
