Mrs. Sarah E. Avery, 88, Port Byron, died in the home of her daughter in Moline yesterday morning after a lingering illness.
Services will be 2 tomorrow afternoon in the Dailey Chapel here. William Lundquist of the Jehova Witnesses of Moline will officiate.
Burial will be in the Cordova Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services.
The former Sarah Simpson was born Sept. 22, 1873, in Coe Twp., the daughter of James and Mary Rake Simpson.
She married John P. Avery Aug. 2, 1902, in Rock Island.
She was a member of the Cordova Baptist Church and was a past noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are the widower; 2 sons, Harry, of Rock Island, and J. Walter of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Lois J. Plym, Moline; two grandchildren and two great-grandchidlren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
