LILLIE MAY ANDERSON, 85, of Gracemont, was born May 18, 1927, in Gracemont to Alonzo and Bessie Marie (Wolf) Gunn. She peacefully went to join her loved ones on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, in Anadarko.

By the age of six, Lillie could read the newspaper and knew her multiplication tables as taught by her father. She continued her schooling to the 5th grade. At the age of 13, Lillie married Elmer Bilyeu. They were blessed with 4 children before his death. Lillie married Ray Baker Anderson in November of 1953 and together, they raised 9 children plus taking in over 100 foster children. Lillie managed and worked in several cafes in the area and worked for a few years at Maremont in Chickasha.

Lillie enjoyed raising dogs, embroidery, quilting, canning, reading, and most of all, taking care of her flowers and plants. Everyone knew that if you killed your plant, you could take it to Lillie and she would bring it back to life. Ray and Lillie were big wrestling fans. Everyone tried to not sit too close to Lillie during wrestling because in her excitement, she might have taken you down.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Elmer Bilyeu and Ray Anderson; two sons, Donald and David and six grandchildren.

Survivors include five daughters, Aleathea Richard of Iota, Louisiana, Edith Johnson and husband Ole of Anadarko, Georgia Crha of Elk City, Barbara Goucher and her husband, Kenneth of Gracemont and Karen Newton and her husband, Jerry of Oklahoma City; two sons, Carl Bilyeu and his wife, Louisa of Anadarko; three daughters-in-law, Shelia of Guthrie, Clota of Anadarko and Peggy of Yale; sister-in-law, Bonnie Bilyeu of Anadarko; two Brothers, Ivan Gunn of Yukon and Harley Gunn of Amarillo; 29 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The funeral service is scheduled for 2 P.M., Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Bethel Baptist Church with David Oxley, pastor of the Eaglecrest Christian Fellowship in Oklahoma City officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery.
