Birth: Sep. 3, 1864
Glasgow City, Scotland
Death: May 20, 1937

His brothers Charles (probably) and Robert (known) also seem to have immigrated from Scotland to America. Robert, evidently, was in the New York City area. Their father was a banker in Glasgow.

Thomas immigrated in 1883 and was naturalized in Chicago in 1892. He and his wife married at Furnessville IN and went to Guanajuato, Mexico, where he worked and struggled with his wife's brother's Dwight Furness Co.

Their first three children -- Leslie, Charles A. "Jack," Marjorie -- were born in Guanajuanto, and David was born at Sacramento along the way to the family settling in Coronado CA.

(Unsourced, undated obituary clipping, copied by family onto a copy of a Department of State letter about his naturalization. The clip apparently is from a San Diego CA newspaper.)
