He managed the elevator in Hanley Falls for a number of years before coming to Glenwood. An injury a year after arrival in Glenwood left him with impaired health.
Pallbearers were Axel Vinge, Chester Irgens, Martin Overstad, William Birney, Oberlin Dyrstad and Frank O'Brien. He was buried at Hanley Falls cemetery with full military honors.
He is survived by his wife and daughter Mardith.
