Birth: May 1, 1832
Harrison County
Ohio, USA
Death: Dec. 26, 1922
Marion County
Kansas, USA

Spouse: Thomas Dickerson
Marriage: August 20, 1852

An old and respected pioneer in the county. Departed this life, at her home in Marion, Kan., Tuesday, Dec. 26th, 1922, at the ripe age of 91 years. She was the mother of nine children. See Thomas Dickerson's memorial for the names of the children. She was born in Harrison County, Ohio, 1832, and after growing to womanhood, came with her husband to Kansas in 1871, and a year later settled on a farm four miles south of Marion.

The 23rd President, Benjamin Harrison was her third cousin.

Hannah Harrison was reared as a Quaker and in her early young womanhood united with the Methodist Church. Mrs. Dickerson was a remarkable woman. She had a wonderfully strong mind, which was unimpaired to the end. Age had made no impress even upon her memory of recent events. She had a very strong convictions, a spirit of determination which knew no yielding, and a personality which made her a marked character with all who knew her.

This writer spent an hour with her two hours before she died. She had prepared her own evening meal, for she insisted upon doing most of her housework. She was all 'primped up' and looked as bright and happy as a school girl. She talked of many things and laughed and told stories and expressed opinions on many subjects in her usual, positive and vigorous manner.

The funeral services were held from the home where a large concourse of relatives and friends paid their last tender respects to her grand and examplary life.

Dr. A. O. Ebright a former pastor, and at one time her family physician, conducted the services. His remarks were full of pathos and tenderness.

No words can pay adequate tribute to the life and worth of such characters as Mother Dickerson. The memory of her is a priceless heritage to children, to the many grandchildren and to the countless friends who came within the touch of her remarkable personality."-From the obituary in a Marion, Kansas newspaper.
