Mrs. Frank D. Ball died Friday. October 23, 1948 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.L. Golladay. At the services, Ralph Ball sang "God's Tomorrow" and "Old Rugged Cross,: accompanied by Mrs. Jessie Gowan. The prelude was by Mrs. G.V. Redford. Services were at 2:30 p.m., Monday at the Christian Church, with the pastor, the Rev.C.E. Robinson, assisted by Dr. A.B. Newland. Active pall bearers were John Surber, Willie Peters, J.L. Snyder, C. Wesley Atkins, Dean Surber, and Ray Sappington. Honorary ones were James A. Haller, Joseph Raber, Albert Reed, G.V. Redford, E.K. Redford and W.W. Collier. Etta May Graves was born on a farm south of Holden on May 6, 1869. She attended A.F. Smith College in Holden. Son John died in Denver in February of 1935. Two daughters survived Helen (Mrs. Jack Overman) of Billings, Montana, and Lora (Mrs. E.L. Golladay) of Holden; a son, Homer Bailey Ball of Holden. Mrs. Ball had five grandchildren: W.L. and Jean Golladay of Holend, Homer B. Ball Jr. of Holden; and Janet and Jimmy Overman of Billings, Montana. Homer was then a student at the University of Missouri and Jean was a student at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
