Son of John Meservey Sr and Sarah Clarke Meservey. John Jr was the great grandson of the famous Clement Messervy, one of the original colonists of New Hampshire arriving in 1673 from the Isle of Jersey. John Jr married Sally Chesley in Strafford County, NH in 1762. Sally and John Meservey had several children including Deborah, Howard, Jane, Lemuel, Lottie, Alpheus, Nathaniel, Hannah, Samuel, and Joseph. John died the same year that his last child was born. Also his first four children died during childhood.
