Bobby Clyde Applewhite age 79, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012. A Memorial service celebrating the life of Bob Applewhite will be today at Aulds Funeral Home at 6 pm. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Rev. Buddy Hankins and Bill Paige will be officiating the service. Mr Applewhite was born October 27, 1932, in Winfield, Louisiana and had lived in Shreveport for the past 63 yrs. He is a preceded in death my his parents Clyde and Alma Applewhite and sister Elsie Dickerson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years June Applewhite. Son BJ Applewhite, wife Terri and daughter Sarah, and step grandson Billy and wife April , daughter Karen CID and husband Jose, and sons Chris and Tyler and daughter Terri J. Applewhite and partner Stan and son Kelly. Sister Carolyn DeLatin and Daughter Angela Godley. Aunt Christine Laborde. Two great grandchildren Laura and Jayce. He had many loved extended family members. Terry & Donna Moore, children Maria and Casey and Igor and Wenlee, Nadia and Anna. He worked for the US Post Office and retired after 38 years of service. He touched many young people's lives. Those reading this will remember him being a coach, mentor and furnishing Christmas presents and cloths to familys in need. He also enjoyed taking kids camping and teaching them how to water ski. Per his wishes he donated his body to science. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice . Special thanks to Dr. Blanchard and others who helped during this brief illness.
