She married James A. Harper who was born in November 4, 1875 in Texas, son of James Riley Harper Jr. and Matilda E. Bateman.

The 1910 Federal Census for Justice Precinct 3, Texas (Hunt County) shows James A. Harper, a farmer, age 24, born November 1875 in Texas; and his wife, Leora J., age 16, born May 1884 in South Carolina. Living with them was one child Samuel M. Harper, age 8 months, born September 1899 in Texas.

The 1920 Federal Census for Calera, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows James A. Harper, a farmer, age 44, born in Texas; and his wife, Leora J., age 35, born in South Carolina. Living with them were eight children: James R. Harper, a farm hand, age 18; Lee O. Harper, a farm hand, age 17; Garnett A. Harper, age 14; William M. Harper, age 12; Delmo Harper, age 10; Lillian Harper, age 4; Vivian Harper, age 4; and Loretta Harper, age 3; all born in Texas.

The 1930 Federal Census for Colbert, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows James A. Harper, a farmer, age 54, born in Texas; and his wife, Leora J., age 45, born in South Carolina. Living with them were six children: Delmo Harper, age 20; Lillian Harper, age 14; Vivian Harper, age 14; Loretta Harper, age 13; Ernest Harper, age 10; and Oleta Harper, age 5; all born in Texas except Ernest and Oleta born in Oklahoma.

James died September 24, 1940 and was buried in Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County). Leora died in 1963 and was buried in Highland Cemetery beside her husband.
