Lucille Owens, 92, of Crossville, passed away July 25, 2004. Funeral services were conducted July 28 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. Bill Roberts officiated.
Mrs. Owens was born July 24, 1912 in Hansonville, VA, the daughter of John and Emily A. Mays Holt.
She was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, VA in 1935. On Jan. 5, 1939, she married her husband of 65 years, Paul E. Owens.
Survivors include her husband, Paul E. Owens of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and Cindy Owens of Crossville and Terry and Amy Owens of San Antonio, TX; sister, Maude Weddle of Bristol, TN; grandchildren, Tiffany Coughlin, Buffy Stancel, Holly Owens, Leigh Ann Owens, Tiffiny Thomasson, Tami Thomasson and Matt Thomasson; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Coughlin, Carter Coughlin and Dante Thomasson.
Pallbearers were Ralph Padgett, Gordon Hedgecoth, Morris Kendrick, Red Turner, John Eldridge and James Perry.
Honorary pallbearers were the Memorial Baptist Middle Men Sunday school class.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC was in charge of the arrangements.
