Floyd Coffman, 96 of Providence, passed away on Monday, Aug. 20 in Providence.
He was born on March 29, 1916 in Hopkins County to Cleo and Belle Coffman.
Floyd attended schools at Stoney Point and Dalton and was married to Gladys Howton in 1940 at Dixon. Floyd farmed in the Stoney Point area all of his working life.
His wife Gladys passed away in 1981 and Floyd and Thelma Villines Utley were married in 1983. She also preceded him in death in February of 2012.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Jane and Tristan Lineberry of Nebo and son and daughter in law Ronnie and Charlotte Coffman of Ithaca, NY. Three grandchildren Jeff Lineberry, Jason Coffman and Caroline Chavez, three great grandchildren, Axl Chavez Conner Lineberry and Caleb Lineberry.
Floyd was a member of Stoney Point Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed his old cars.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 1 PM at Jones & Erdman in Providence with Bro. Donny Coursey officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Visitation is on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 9 AM to service time at the funeral home.

PROVIDENCE — Floyd Coffman, 96, Providence, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, in Providence.
He farmed in the Stoney Point area all of his working life and was a member of Stoney Point Primitive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Howton Coffman, who died in 1981; his second wife, Thelma Villines Utley Coffman, who died in February 2012; and his parents, Cleo and Belle Coffman.
Survivors include one daughter, Jane Lineberry of Nebo; one son, Ronnie Coffman of Ithaca, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jones and Erdman Funeral Home in Providence. Brother Donny Coursey will officiate. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
