Funeral was still pending Monday night for Mrs. LON A. BROOKS, mother of CLYDE BROOKS, and sister of Mrs. E. T. BROOKS, who died Monday in Kansas City, Missouri. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. H. REES, the former MARY EVELYN BROOKS, who is the wife of Brig. Gen. C. H. REES, Air Force operations chief for 26 states. She had been in ill health for some time. She suffered a stroke Sunday morning.

Born near Temple in 1874, Mrs. Brooks moved with her family at an early age to Killeen. She was graduated from high school there and from Thomas Arnold College in Salado.
