Dutton Date: July 8th, 1928 - July 26th, 2011 Obituary: Mrs. Martha Ackiss Dutton, age 83 of Griffin, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011at Spalding Regional Medical Center.Mrs. Dutton was born on July 8, 1928 in Pike County to the late Stewart Dewitt Ackiss and the late Lula Thomas Ackiss. She was also preceded in death by infant daughter, Patricia Dutton;brothers, Howard, Fred, Roger and Jack Ackiss; sisters, Mary Horton and Gladys Davis. Mrs. Dutton was a Veteran of the United States Army having served as a WAC during World War II. She was a member of Plainview Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband of 67 years, L.M. Dutton; son, Leland Dutton; daughter, Susan (Chris) Carney; grandchildren, Lisa Dutton, Kenneth Dutton, Khris ( Lucy) Dutton, Sean ( Amber) Carney, Corey Drake; great-grandchildren, Joseph Scarpa, Zeb Dutton, Payton and Brynlie Carney, Nickelus Dutton, Mikala Mathews, MacKenzie Drake; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Eloise Ackiss of Griffin; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Dorothy Dutton of Griffin, Alma Dutton of Griffin.Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Dutton will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Stewart Morrison will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimers Association, 1925 Century Blvd, Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345 in memory of Mrs. Dutton.
