According to "The Sayre Family", by Theodore Banta (1901), Ephraim is the son of David SAYRE (1736-1826), who served in the Revolution from NJ and was in Letart township at least by 1802. Lydia FAWCETT was born on April 1, 1776 and died Jan. 15, 1856. Ephriam SAYRE was born in Monongalia County, VA on Aug. 22, 1770. Re Ephriam, the book states: "He was a farmer in Letart Falls, Meigs County, Ohio, and was a class-leader in the Methodist Episcopal Church for many years. He was drafted in the War of 1812, but served only as a scout against the Indians."
