Margaret Burr, 94, King City, MO, died June 6, 2012.
She was born April 29, 1918 at Towner, CO, the daughter of Arthur Joseph and Anna (Biggs) Heaney.
She moved to Kansas City in 1941 to work in a defense plant.
She met Alan G. Burr there and they were subsequently married and settled in Roeland Park.
She was a member of the Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kansas City, MO for 20 years.
She graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1960, earning a bachelor's degree in sociology. She moved to Garden City where she was employed as a social worker.
She moved to memphis, TN, in 1970 and lived with her daughter Helen for 22 years as a homemaker and was involved again with social work and literacy programs.
She moved to Topeka in 1992 and then to Missouri in 2004.
Survivors include: one daughter Helen Parker Dickey, Healy; one son Donald L. Parker, Conception, MO; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preced in death by her parents; one brother Roland Cornell Heaney; and four sisters: Rosalie Heaney Roper, Eleanor Heaney Rice Schwint, Alice Heaney White and Henrietta Heaney Hane.
A memorial service was held June 13 at Grace Episcopal Cathedral, Topeka.
