Robert Wayne German, of Olney, Ill., passed away at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Burgin Manor Nursing Home, after a prolonged illness.

Cremation rites were accorded and burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery, Williamsfield, Ill., at a later date.

Robert was born in Galesburg, Ill., the son of Gerald F. Sr. and Carrel L. (Ogle) German.

Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements.

A member of a military family, he attended schools in Barksdale AFB, Bossier City, LA; Vogelweh American Elementary School, Kaiserslautern, Germany; SAC Hq, Bellevue, NE; Rantoul Jr. High, Rantoul, IL; and East Richland High School, Olney, IL.

Robert is survived by his mother, of Olney; two brothers, Gerald F. German Jr. and Michael J. German, of Tampa, FL.; as well as one aunt, Gloria Johnson, of Knoxville, Ill.; one uncle, Robert Ogle, of Ottawa, IL.; several cousins; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Edmond and Ruth Ogle, of Augusta, IL, and James and Lois German, of Williamsfield, IL
