A native of Toledo, Ohio, Dillon played the position of Right Wing for teams in the OHA-SR, Can-Am, NHL, and the AHL. At 5'11", and 175lbs, Dillon played for the Owen Sound Jr. Greys from 1937 to 1928, Springfield Indians from 1928 to 1931, New York Rangers from 1930 to 1939, Detroit Red Wings from 1939 to 1940, Indianapolis Capitols from 1940 to 1941, Providence Reds from 1940 to 1941, and the Pittsburgh Hornets from 1941 to 1942. Dillon was a Member of the NHL Second All-Star Team in 1936 and 1937, and the NHL First All-Star Team in 1938. He retired from hockey in 1942 and moved to Thornbury, Ontario, where he got a job working for a phone company. Dillon passed away in Meaford, Ontario, in November 1969, at the age of 61.
