|Death: ||Aug., 1912|
The body of Mrs. Florence Jackson, widow of General Henry R. Jackson, was taken last night to her old home, Savannah, Ga., there to rest beside her husband in the old cemetery of Bonaventure.
Mrs. Jackson, who was 78 years old, died Wednesday night at Oakton, Marietta, Ga., the summer home of her sister, Mrs. James Wilder, of Savannah. She had been in ill-health for a number of years, and her condition became critical last week. Her recovery was not expected, owing to her advanced age.
She was widely known throughout the state and connected with the most prominent Georgia families. She was the second wife of General Jackson, and was married to him in 1866. Surviving her are her sister, Mrs. Wilder, two brothers, General Floyd King, of Virginia, and Cuyler King, of Macon. She also leaves several step-grandchildren, Renfroe Jacson, Mrs. Shepard Bryan, Mrs. A. J. Orme, Marion Jackson, and Mrs. Wilmer L. Moore, of Atlanta, and Mrs. Cooper, of Hendersonville, N.C.
