Mrs. Florence Amell. 72, of 44 Lafayette St.. died at 5:25 p. m. Wednesday at the Saranac Lake General Hospital, where she had been a patient since January 1. A Mass of the Resurrection was
celebrated at 10 a, m. Saturday at Holy Name Church. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery inthe spring. She was born May 24. 1902, in Huntington, Quebec, the daughter of James and Mary Rice Castelle, and was married on August. 31, 1928 at Holy Name Church here to Leslie Amell of this village. Mr. Amell was one of five Tupper Lake men killed in a head-on auto collision on January 26, 1953 on Raymond Hill, on the outskirts of this village. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. George (Christina) Lavigne and Mrs. Paul (Margaret) Vezeau, both of Tupper Lake, and Mrs. Raymond (Barbara) Caron of Southington, Conn.; three sons: Raymond, Stanley and Sherwood Amell. all of this village; a sister, Mrs. William (Anna) Seery, Tupper Lake: 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
