MRS. BRAYNARD DIES AT 86
Mrs. Gretna Braynard, 86, a longtime resident of The Webster City community, died Friday evening a the Hamilton County Hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 P.M. Monday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. A. E. Rau officiating and with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
Gretna McCoskey, daughter of John and Ellen Taylor McCoskey, was born Dec. 26, 1880, at Salem, Ind. and was reared and educated in the Salem community.
She was united in marriage Feb. 10, 1904, to Perry Braynard, and the couple resided at Hinsboro, Ill. for several years, then moved to Iowa, locating on a farm north of Webster City. In 1911, the family moved to North Dakota and farmed in the vicinity of Walhalla, returning to the Webster City community in 1928.
Mrs. Braynard is survived by two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Carl (Irene) Goschke, Walhalla, N.D., Mrs. Donald (Edna)Dinsdale, Webster City, Clyde Braynard, Harbor City, Ore., Glen Braynard, Fort Dodge, Elmo Braynard, Swea City, and Wallace Braynard, Crosby, Minn.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Jason B. McCosky, Jewell, Winfield McCoskey and Mrs. Elige Newlon, both of Pekin, Ind. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1945; by one daughter, who died in infancy; by her parents and three sisters.
Mrs. Braynard was a member of the Asbury Methodist church, but in later years had attended the Evangelical United Brethren church.
