RAY BEST DIES AT 69
Ray Best, 69, lifelong Webster City resident, died Wednesday evening at the Hamilton County Hospital where he had been a patient the past four days. He had been in ill health the past three months.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. George Eddy officiating, with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
Ray McKinley Best, son of George W. and Mattie Best, was born May 11, 1896, at Webster City and was reared and edcuated in this community.
He was united in marriage Feb 23, 1921, to Lola McCollough, and the couple had always since resided at Webster City. Mr. Best was employed as an agent for the Railway Express Co., retiring in 1962.
He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter, Don Best and Mrs. George (Betty) Ringer, both of Webster City; four grand children, Diane & Jon Ringer and Kirk & Kreg Best; one sister, Mrs. Dennis (Helen) Gabrielson of Gowrie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Merlyn and Clare Best.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Modern Woodmen.
