D.B.Abshire, 82 of Jumping Branch, died Friday, September 25, 1998, in a Hinton hospital following a long illness. Born October 23, 1915 at Jumping Branch, he was the son of the late Basil D. and Vista V. Deeds Abshire. He was a lifelong resident of Jumping Branch. He was preceded in death by a sister, Athleen A. Lawson and a brother, Kyle Abshire. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ida Charlton Abshire, two sons, Dr. Kyle D. Abshire and his wife, Margaret of Orange Park, Fla and Thomas N. Abshire and his wife, Martha of Jumping Branch; two grandaughters, Lisa Suzanne Wood and her husband Jimmy, and Sarah Kristi Abshire; a great-grandson, Jason Holden Abshire; and a brother-in-law, Ernest T. Lawson, Sr, of Hinton. Services were held 2 pm Monday, September 28th at Bluestone Baptist Church, Jumping Branch, with Pastors Bill Fox and Elmo Alderman officiating. Burial followed in Abshire Family Cemetery, Jumping Branch. Pallbearers were Jimmy and Sonny Lawson, Ruehl Meadows, Bobby Keaton, Donald Crook, Willie Gray, James Wood, David Clineball, Ernest Lawson, Frank Bower, Eldridge Bragg, Arnold Wilcox, Bob Kirk and Dr. J.W.
