“Minnie” was born in 1871 near Wathena in Doniphan County, Kansas, where her father was a farmer. (See mother’s bio.) On April 3, 1899, she was married to her cousin Emile Gerardy. They settled on a farm in Goshen Township, Clay County, Kansas, not far from the farm of Emile’s parents. Their son Floyd was born there in December of 1900. By 1905 they had moved to Alma, Wabaunsee, Kansas, where their son Ivan was born. Then by 1910 they had moved to Americus in Fremont Township, Lyon County, Kansas. In 1921 they moved to North Sacramento, where they lived at 1120 Arcade Blvd. Her husband Emile worked in Sacramento as a driver for a dairy company and then as a sale representative for the dairy. He died in 1945, and Minnie died ten years later.
