A worshipper of the one true God, a lover of His living Word, and an obedient servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, Marion went to her heavenly reward, Jan. 3, 2011.
Marion, the daughter of Alfred Bogges and the former Ruby Dodson, of Cheyenne, Okla., was born in Elk City, Okla., May 29, 1942.
A genuine Proverbs 31 woman, Marion was a faithful wife and devoted mother, who fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. Henceforth, according to God's Word in II Timothy 4:8, there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness which shall be given to her on that day.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband, Windel Marshall; daughter, Tama Threlkeld; sons, Dr. Steven Pierce and wife Laura, David Pierce and wife Lori, and Jason Pierce; stepdaughters, Winde Marshall, Mande Young and husband Tim, and Misty Miller and husband Mark. Marion is also survived by her mother; brothers, Bill Bogges and wife Kathryn, Bob Bogges and wife Linda and Don Bogges and wife Nancy; and sister, Judy Jones; grandchildren, Lauren Dillard, Brett McIntire, Brandon Threlkeld, Elizabeth Pierce, Robert Pierce, Garrett Pierce, Caleb Pierce, Keston Pierce and Gavyn Pierce; stepgrandchildren, Chloe Young, Caden Young and Evan Miller.
Marion was a faithful member of Friendly Baptist Church who loved to go soul-winning on Tuesday nights because God's Word says in Proverbs 11:30, "He who wins souls is wise." She was a regular at Bible study fellowship because God's Word says in II Timothy 2:15, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Marion was a regular "Drill Sergeant" when it came to scripture memorization because God's Word says in Psalms 119:11, "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee"; and her children will testify to the life-changing effects God's Word has had on their lives.
Marion was tireless in seeking after the things of God because I Corinthians 15:58 says, "Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
Marion came to this home-going day full of confidence because she believed God's Word in II Timothy 1:12, "For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day." But contrary to popular belief, Marion was not perfect. Her one vice was buying fabric and never getting around to making the quilts!
Pallbearers will be Ken Wheeler, John Morris, Randy Hendrix, John Berry, Rick Allen and Ken Lackner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Threlkeld, Garrett Pierce, Caleb Pierce, Robert Pierce, Keston Pierce, Gavyn Pierce, Caden Young and Evan Miller.
