Civil War Veteran, Company C, Wisconsin Infantry. He served in the Union, 37th Regiment, Wisconsin, Company C. His rank is was Private and he ranked out at Corporal. His widow, Mary F. filed for a pension 31 July 1890 (Application 464.502).

He was the son of Chauncey C. Kenyon and Sophronia Goodenough. He married, Mary F. Patterson, 1837 in New York. They married 9 Sep 1855 in Ceres, McKean County, PA.

This may be the Samuel Kenyon who was murdered. He lived about 3 1/2 miles west of Black River Falls. It was reported in the Independent. The article also mentioned the deceased had a son, Frank.(Tomah Journal, November 5, 1881)
