Shumate, John Homer, age 68 of Maryville, passed away Thursday September 7, 2006 at U.T. Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; he was a master barber,formerly employed by the City of Maryville as a fireman for 21 years, employed by Coulter Florist.
Preceded in death by wife; Linda Sue Shumate, son; Danny Shumate, parents; Homer and Beatrice Shumate Boling, brother; Robert Shumate.
Survivors include, special companion; Prissy, daughter; Debbie Shumate of Knoxville, daughter and son in law; Missy and Barry Marshall of Collierville, TN, daughter; Angela Massey of Knoxville, grandchildren; Addyson Brown, Barrett Marshall, Jacob Massey, Justin Massey, Kensey Massey, brother; Bill Shumate, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 7:00 PM Saturday September 9, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Tom Hatley and Missy Marshall officiating. Entombment service 2:00 PM Sunday September 10, 2006 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
