James Fredrick Puntney of Bridgeport died August 7, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family.

The journey of James F. (Fred) Puntney began in Wabash County on November 5, 1927. He was the first born son of James W. and Anna Shepard Puntney. On May 26, 1950 he married Evelyn Sharp Puntney, and they had four sons who survive: James (Jodie) of Lawrenceville and John (Beth) of Terre Haute, IN, Mark Puntney of Bridgeport and Andrew Puntney of Evansville, IN. He had eight grandchildren: John Puntney, Jamie Davenport, Ava Lemmon, Shawn Puntney, Derek Puntney, Ashley Schultz, Ian Puntney and Noah Puntney. Ten great grandchildren also survive. He is survived by two sisters: Virginia Nell Jones and Bonnie Faye (Noel) Hasler. A sister-in-law, Bonnie J. Puntney, survives as well.

Preceding him in death were his parents (James and Anna Puntney), wife (Evelyn) his brother (Warren), and three great grandchildren (Sedona Schultz, Jacob Davenport, and Eydie Marie Schultz).

On October 21, 1999 he married Patricia Neal Parrott, and she survives along with her children: Randa Menke (Jim) of Vincennes, IN, Linda Rucker (Rick) of Lawrenceville and Deb Parrott (Sabra) of rural Sumner, her grandchildren: Tanner and Taylor Martin, Samantha Cunningham, Lindsi Tiffany, Kylee McKinney, Amber Newlin, Chad Rucker, Jamie Whalen, Deb Parrott III, Whitley and Presley Parrott and several great grandchildren. He was affectionately known as "Pop".

He was a member of the Orio Presbyterian Church and had attended the Methodist Church in Sumner. He worked for Marathon Oil Co. until his retirement in 1987. He was a 50 plus year Master Mason and belonged to the Sumner Lodge.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, and being a Dad, Grandpa, Husband, and spending many years with his dog (Stella), having regular visits with Marcy, reminiscing about his job at Marathon, and his life's journey.

Burial in the Bridgeport City Cemetery.
