Noted Pediatrician Dies in New Orleans
Dr. Charles James Bloom, nationally known New Orleans pediatrician died during the evening hours of August 31, 1947, and was buried in Metairie Cemetery on August 31, 1947.
Dr. Bloom, a leader in child care for many years, died of a heart ailment after an illness of three days at the age of 60.
He was author of "the care and feeding of babies in warm climates," as well as numerous professional articles for medical journals. One of these was a pioneer work on vaccine treatment for whooping cough written in 1919.
