Television Personality. Featured prominently on the Discovery Channel's "American Casino" television series. He was vice president of hotel operations at the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Casino in Henderson, Nevada. A native of Buffalo, New York, Tata moved to Las Vegas in 1993 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 1996. Prior to joining the Green Valley Ranch staff in June 2001, he was employed by the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as well as the Four Seasons hotels in New York, Maui and Las Vegas. His body was discovered in his home July 6th by officers of the Henderson Police Department. Toxicology reports indicated that he died from apparent heart failure, resulting from an accidental mixture of a potent painkiller and alcohol in his blood system. Michael Tata was 33 years old at the time of his death.
