Roy E. Burns, age 87, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Oaks of West Kettering Nursing Home.
He was born in Townsend, TN to the late Thomas Lawson Burns and Minnie Headrick Burns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Naomi Ruth Messer Burns; brothers, Luther, Sam, Ray, Carl "Pete", and Shirley; along with sisters, Mae Kolbe and Mary Storey.
He is a retiree from NCR and General Motors. Mr. Burns was also a WWII Veteran and a member of the Masonic Alpha Lodge 729 in Dayton, OH.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; son and daughter-in-law, of Harrogate, TN; two grandsons; a granddaughter, and great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 14, 2012 from 1pm to 2pm with funeral service starting at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, OH.
Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Masonic Alpha Lodge No. 729 immediately before service. Pastor John Whittaker will be officiating.
Interment will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH.
