Ersel Edward Salyers, 85, of Flatwoods, Ky., husband of Juanita Salyers, died August 9, 2012, in Kings Daughter's Medical Center.
He was born on November 24, 1926, in Boyd County to the late Ben and Dora Salyers.
He retired from AK Steel, where he worked as a repairman for many years. He also served his country proudly and honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the S.S. Puget Sound.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Straight Creek Nazarene Church. Burial will follow at Kirby Flats Cemetery.
Visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Carman Funeral Home, Flatwoods.
