Mrs. Mary S. Wooten, 81, a native of Ellis County and a resident of Mountain Peak for the last 45 years, died at 8:25 p.m. Friday at the Waxahachie Sanitarium after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Methodist Church at Midlothian with the Rev. Homer Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Peak Cemetery under the direction of the Rudolph Funeral Home.
A native of Oak, Mrs. Wooten was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ace Bynum, pioneer settlers. She was a member of the Midlothian Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wooten was preceded in death by her husband in 1944.
Survivors include a son, H. L. Wooten of Mountain Peak; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including Walter Briley, who was reared in the home and who still resides there, and W. C. Bynum of Waxahachie.
