MARTIN, Eleanor
Age 98, of Burdett, NY, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls. Eleanor was born in Dundee, NY, the daughter of Elroy and Lillie (Peck) Arnold on November 29, 1911. She grew up and attended school in Dundee and later married Russell Martin. Both Eleanor and her husband where longtime members of the Burdett Presbyterian Church. They resided in Burdett, NY for most of their life and later Frost Proof, FL for over 20 years. In her later years, she also resided at the Jefferson Village in Watkins Glen and The Falls Home in Montour Falls. Eleanor worked as a bank teller for the Ovid National Bank in Ovid and Interlaken. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Monday, September 27, 2010, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Richard Evans officiating; burial at Union Cemetery of Hector, Burdett, NY.
