Ethel Cleo Dishner "Mimi" Roberts, age 82, of Maryville, drifted into the arms of the angels on Monday, October 16, 2006 at UT Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Cleo and her husband Homer met while working on the Manhatten Project in Oak Ridge. They were avid motorcyclists. She loved gardening, flower arranging, and cooking. She belonged to the garden club and was an avid UT football fan. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a true friend to all who knew her with a heart of gold and had special love for animals and children.

Preceded in death by son, Gary J. Roberts; parents, Robert A. and Martha Littleton Dishner; and brother, John Dishner.

Left to miss the warmth and comfort of her presence are her devoted husband of 58 years, Homer J. Roberts; daughter and son in law, Judy Lynn and Tommie Monroe of Knoxville; grandchildren and spouses, Robert Stephen Cox and Valerie Mire of Knoxville, Kristin Nicole Whelahan and Shawn of Knoxville, and Robbin K. Campbell and Raymond of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Ian Joseph Whelahan and Ashley Nicole McCarter; brother and sister in law, Bill and Peggy Dishner of Long Island, New York; her pride and joy pomeranian, Sunny Delight; little buddy, Sam Meares; caregiver, Diane Kelly; very devoted special friend, Meera Battles; and special thanks to the nurses and staff of the 12TH Floor at UT Medical Center and doctor's Dr. Kim Emmett MD, Dr. Daphne Norwood, and Dr. Carrie Baker MD.

Funeral service 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Micky Roberts officiaiting. Interment 1:00 PM Thursday at Grandview Cemetery. Paulbearers include Ron Meares, Mike Meares, Tommie Monroe, Hubert Helton, Perry Roberts, and David Wilburn. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
