From an 1895 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, publication date unknown,transcribed by Linda Berney:

On Wednesday, Mr. J. S. Moore received a letter from his niece, Mrs. N. R. Laney of Talmage, Dickinson county, Kansas, conveying the sad intelligence of the death of his brother, Mr. R. W. Moore, on August 16th. Mr. Moore was a minister in the United Brethren church. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Slade on SAturday the 17th from Ps 17-
