:) :) "Remember Faye and Smile" :) :)
Thank you for visiting my Grandma's memorial.
The flowers and visits are so appreciated.
Faye Hunt was a precious lady. She was married to my Grandpa, Joseph Melvin Hunt. They were married in Bernice La. in 1937. Their children were:
Granny was a homemaker. She loved to work inside and outside. She kept a spotless house and her yard was filled with beautiful flowers each year. She grew a garden and canned food every summer. She worked from early morning until it was time for bed. I remember she always sat in the back room and read her Bible before bed time. Granny was a Christian and she attended church for as long as she was able to drive.
Granny was a soft spoken lady. She was a very loving Grandmother and I miss her so much. She was a good cook...but she never wanted anyone in her kitchen while she cooked. I wish that I could have learned how to cook like she could. She made the best "hot water cornbread"...and I loved the way she seasoned her food with bacon grease and a pinch of sugar.
I miss so many things about Granny. She crosses my mind every day. Whenever I smell a Petunia, I always say "I love you, Granny"....she always had pink petunias growing by the front door...and the smell was always wonderful.
I'm sure she never thought about how we would remember her in so many little ways. She left so many good things behind.
Granny raised her family on "Hunt Rd." in Spearsville, La. until my Grandpa found work at International Paper in Springhill La. They packed up and moved to Springhill, and later on moved to Sarepta, where they lived the rest of their life, on Bennett Rd.
