403642 Captain Bryan Alastair Parker died at the Millbank Hospital, London on the 13th November 1956 after being ill for a number of months. It came as a great shock to the Regiment as he was only 27 years of age.
He was commissioned in to the Worcestershire Regiment from the Royal Military College at Sandhurst on the 14th July 1949. He was then posted to the 1st Battalion and served with them in Malaya from 1950 to 1952. He then was posted to the Depot for the next 2 years. In 1955 he rejoined the 1st Battalion in Germany.
He was buried with full military honours at his home, St. Leonard's Church, Bursledon, on the 20th November 1956. The firing party, under command of Sgt. T. Bell, and a bearer party of Sergeants and Corporals, under command of R.S.M. A. Foden, M.S.M., were provided by the Depot. Drummer Smith sounded the "Last Post" and "Reveille".
Colonel S. W. Jones represented the Regiment and the following officers also attended; Major J. D. Ricketts, Major G. C. Peace, Major M. C. Gray, Captain E. D. Wilson (from the 1st Battalion), Captain E. A. J. Parry, Captain T. E. J. Mound, Lieutenant D. J. Bezzant and Lieutenant J. H. Bryant
