Ruth was the daughter of Henson Queen and Sarah Hampton. Note: Her grandfather, William Queen is interred at Hogue Cemetery in Bostic.

She would marry Thomas Upton on 20 Aug 1789 in Rutherford County. Performed by: William Monroe, Baptist Minister. Bondsman: William Queen. Witness: Issac Whiteside.

NOTE: Historical records reveal Rutha Queen was previously married to an unknown Hamby (Hambee).

Ruth is listed in her father's Last Will & Testament, which he wrote on 17 Mar 1823 in Rutherford County, along with her mother and siblings. After her father's death, ca. 1825, his estate was probated in April 1826.

Upon the death of her husband, Ruth would remove to Macon County, NC along with her daughter, Elizabeth and husband, John Thomas West.

She is last shown in the 16 Sep 1850 Tennessee Valley, Macon County Census in the home of her daughter, Elizabeth (Upton) West. She is age, 100.

The exact date of her death is unknown; there is no death record nor mortality schedule found for her.
