John A. Dickhut, a highly respected and prominent farmer of Gilmer township, passed away Sunday afternoon about 3 o'clock, after an illness of only a few hours, death resulting from a stroke of apoplexy.
Mr. Dickhut was born near Quincy sixty-two years ago, and on Feb. 8, 1877, he was married to Eleanor Booth, who survives him; also six children, as follows: Mrs. C.C. Lawless, Mrs. H.M. Ogle, Mrs. Florence Sivertson, Oliver, Roscoe, and Hazel, all living near Paloma.
Funeral services Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Paloma M.E. church, of which he was a member, with interment in the village cemetery following.
