Luther Loarn Hendrick, Sr., 88, of Mexia, passed away August 4, 2012. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2012, at Porter Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Lide officiating. Burial will be at Mexia Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Porter Funeral Home.

Luther was born in Limestone County, Texas, to the late Alvie and Jewell Ethridge Hendrick. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Luther Hendrick, Jr. and Larry Hendrick; and a daughter, Millie Hendrick.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of Mexia; daughters, Shirley Cole, of Palestine, Linda Hendrick, of Channelview and Sandra Herinckx, of China Spring; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters; a brother; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many frends.
