Easterling Simmons served as a Private in the War of 1812 in Captain Adam Berry's Company of Ohio Militia. He owned land in Milton Township as early as 1834. He is in Jackson County, Ohio in 1840 census.
He is mentioned in an article in Jackson Standard Journal May 26, 1909 as a War of 1812 Veteran laid to rest in Salem Cemetery.
He died after 1860 census.
