| Birth: | Nov. 9, 1389 | | Death: | Sep. 13, 1410 | English Royalty. She was the Queen Consort of King Richard II. The daughter of Charles VI of France and Isabel of Bavaria, she was married to the widower Richard II on October 31, 1396 to promote good relations with France. She was 8, her husband was 30. Despite it being a political union, most historians agree their marriage was one of mutual respect and affection. After the imprisonment and death of Richard in 1400, the new king Henry IV tried to negotiate a marriage between Isabel and his young son Henry, who was allegedly very much in love with her. Isabel flatly refused, as she was in mourning for her late husband and wanted nothing to do with those who pushed him from his throne. She was allowed to return to France, where she married Charles, Duke of Orleans, on June 29, 1406. She died at Anjou at the age of 21, shortly after giving birth.
