Mary Maletta
Funeral services for Mary A. Maletta, 90, a longtime resident of the Clarkdale community, will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Francis Catholic Church in Mystic.
Rosary services will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home Monday at 7:30 p.m. Father Al Jungworth and Father Joe Nassal will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. A memorial to the Catholic Church has been established.
Mary Maletta died Saturday, Nov. 4, 1982 at the Golden Age Manor in Centerville. She was born Dec. 15, 1891 in Italy and was the daughter of Sam and Mary Guzzi. She was married Nov. 11, 1905 in Clarkdale to John S. Maletta and he preceded her in death June 1, 1961.
She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in Mystic.
She is survived by seven children: Joe Maletta, Clarkdale; Mike Maletta, Mystic; Elsie Pontious, Clarkdale; John Maletta, Mystic; Lewis Maletta, Pontoosuc, Ill.; Etta Jean Laurson, rural Mystic and Lorraine Ramos, Centerville; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Dulek, Donna, Tex. and Mrs. Diane Fazio, Santa Clara, Cal.; one brother, Tony Guzzi, Clarkdale; 27 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, 12 stepgrandchildren, 29 step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great- grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Robert and Tony; one daughter, Mary Ranes; four sisters and one brother.
