John Hamilton DEAVER was born Mar 9, 1836 in Buncombe County, NC to Lewis Singleton DEAVER, Sr and Mary S. (Chandler) DEAVER. While later living in Murrary County, GA, he served during the Civil War in 62nd Mtd Inf TN CSA. Around 1860, he married Mary Elizabeth HENRY. (Some say her name was MANTOOTH or HAWKINS.) In 1877, the Deaver families moved from TN to TX. John and Mary lived in the Taylors Valley area of Bell County, TX.
